Late Night, Good Book

Do you ever get into a really good book and then find you can't put it down until the bitter end? If you wonder why there have been no posts for a few days, then let me just say that I started reading a really good book called, Odd Thomas. In a nutshell it's about a guy who sees dead people. He is a fascinating character that is simple and yet so complex. That's about all I can say without giving away the story. (Number 1 pet peeve is when someone gives away the ending to a book.) I ended up finishing the book at 12:30 last night and then I could not go to sleep. I needed to chat with someone about what I had just read, but
1) Jason was asleep,
2) He is going to read the book and so I couldn't wake him up and tell him about it
and 3) Anyone I know that had read the book is smart and asleep at 12:30 at night.

So, I tossed and turned for about an hour thinking about the book I had finished and wishing I had the second one in the series.

Now I'm sleepy and want to take a nap, but need to be a good mom and not sleep away the day. Maybe I'll take the kids to the library to pick up some books...

My name is Odd Thomas. I am a fry cook. I lead an unusual life, here in Pico Mundo...

I love Odd I really do!

Yep, read all four of them, but I didn't like the last one as well as the first three. Isn't the ending a killer? I couldn't sleep either after I read it. Take this advice, and get all of them from the library at once, because you know it's not going to take you three weeks to finish them once you start. Then you'll have them all when you want them. I wonder if Dean will write a fifth.

He said in an interview he would write 6 or 7.

And I'll read them all! Have you been to his website with the cartoon Trixie? The real Trixie is now in doggy heaven.
