To shot or not to shot...

I've always thought that shots were a good idea. I'm one of those moms that follows the vaccination chart religiously. But, do the flu shots count? I'm looking for opinions out there...

Do you give your kids the flu shot every year? What about the H1N1 shot/mist? Do you trust it? Am I being paranoid by questioning the FDA ?(insert sarcasm and roll of the eyes here)

My kids see "flu shots available here" signs all over town and remind me each time that they don't want any shots this year. Am I bad for giving them the shots or bad for not giving them? Either way, I think I'm screwed.

Help?

I never have worried about it before unless I was preggers or when Ty was a baby and had breathing issues we all got it. But when our school sent home a free shot form we decided that we would go ahead and all get vaccinated. I don't know whether it's good or bad but if there is even a chance that it will keep us from getting the flu this year that would be AWESOME.

I usually don't do the flu shot. We aren't in the "at risk" category, and my kids have all been very healthy. The one year I did get the flu shot when I was teaching, I got very ill with strep and an unrelated sinus infection. We've had colds galore, but I don't think any of us have had the real flu in years. If the H1N1 vaccine is widely available soon, I'm considering having my kids vaccinated, since it may be more vigorous strand the second year around, and it has been spreading rampant in schools.

I do flu shots every year. (Except when I am a loser and forget.)

I've never bothered and I haven't had a full blown flu in years . . . besides you know it is all just enabling The Government to implant microchips in all of us so They can track our every move!!!

Sorry, I'm no help! ;)

I've never had our family get them and we've survived. We have all the right medicine to treat the symptoms, so why not let our body do its job and build anibodies naturally?
